Art, creativity, community
Our vision for 9a Project Space CIC is to develop a ‘leaky structure’; an organisation that’s open to exchange and dialogue between communities within and beyond Robinwood Mill.
We aim to strengthen a sense of community amongst the mill’s resident artists and makers. 9a gallery offers a space to come together for regular meet-ups and events where artists can present work, make connections and feel supported in their creative practice.
Through developing an associate artist programme, we aim to build connections beyond the mill. Artists not based at Robinwood but resident in Todmorden will be invited to become associates of 9a.
We aim also to strengthen our relationship with communities on our doorstep. 9a will develop programmes with Vale Community Garden and The Cornholme & Portsmouth Old Library Community Hub. Working alongside one another, building relationships and common-ground is fundamental to making our community spaces sustainable.
