9a Project Space is a gallery and project space at Robinwood Mill, Todmorden. We exist at the meeting point of landscape, art and people.

For us, landscape isn’t just something you look at. It’s something you listen to, walk through, read and respond to, through sound, text, image and everything in between. Our exhibition programme reflects this, bringing together artists whose work crosses boundaries and opens up new ways of thinking through place.

We’re drawn to connections: between past and present, here and there, inside and outside. We’re a place of soft borders. Where work flows between the gallery and the world beyond, and we want that openness to shape everything we do.

As a community interest company, we’re committed to growing a space where residents and artists can develop connections, build friendships and find their footing. We want to extend a warm welcome to neighbours on our doorstep in Cornholme, and to visitors from halfway across the world. We believe in access for everyone to world class arts and culture, regardless of where you live or what background you come from. Through our gallery programme, associate artist scheme and community partnerships, we’re passionate about creating opportunities for everyone.

Who shows up matters to us. We’re finding creative, experimental approaches to developing an inclusive space where more people feel welcome, in the gallery and in the allied spaces we work with across Todmorden.
